My first experience with yoga was a weekly course offered as a leisure class through my college, LSU, in Baton Rouge in 2000. I loved it and almost always fell asleep during savasana. I was a runner so yoga was my chance to stretch and de-stress. Over the years I began to delve deeper into the practice and realized that there are many more benefits. In 2010 someone asked if I had ever considered teaching, and that planted the seed that ultimately led me to change careers from finance to yoga instructor. I was certified to teach adults through the Namah Shivaya school in Dallas in 2011. I received additional training to teach kids yoga through Yogees by Taylor Yoss in 2012. In 2014 I completed my 500 hour training at Namah Shivaya and also obtained my E-RYT 500, or “experienced registered yoga teacher” certification after teaching around 3000 hours of classes. I truly believe in the power of yoga to make people feel good, both physically and mentally, and I am excited to bring yoga to a wide cross-section of the community.
